PROJECT MERCY :: JULY 19TH, 11:30am-MIDNITE

SUNDAY JULY 19TH, 11:30 AM - MIDNITE
PROJECT MERCY FUNDRAISER

On the Eastern edge of Tijuana lies an area of wide valleys and rolling hills. Spread through these hills are a number of colonias, shantytowns where the poorest of Mexican families bravely try to forge a better life for themselves and their children.
The cost of land and food is high and wages are low. The hills are dotted with flimsy shacks with dirt floors, no windows and leaking roofs. Children are at high risk of bronchial pneumonia and disease and bites from the vermin that crawl under the walls where they sleep.
Project Mercy builds basic but sturdy houses for these impoverished families. We purchase most building materials in Tijuana and bring together a wide spectrum of US volunteers and Mexican residents in a bi-national effort to overcome the precarious conditions that prevail.
In addition to house building, Project Mercy’s main activity, the project builds latrines, and supports a local non-profit daycare center. Project Mercy has recently built an auditorium for one school, a library building for another and has made repairs on school buildings. You may find more information by visiting the project’s web-site at www.projectmercy.net
Project Mercy has an overhead cost of under 10% of its total revenue.

FOR EVERY BEER SOLD WE WILL GIVE $1 TO PROJECT MERCY

YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE PROJECT MERCY FUNDRAISER ON JULY 19
AT THE BLIND LADY ALEHOUSE WILL HELP TO PROVIDE FUNDS THAT
WILL BE USED DIRECTLY IN THE HOUSE-BUILDING PROGRAM.

GOLD CUP:
For a complete Gold Cup schedule you can check ussoccer.com. Most of the games are on FSC and Univision, so we can put them on.
LE TOUR:
Our plan is to run the 9pm re-cap nightly. This way we can still air the Gold Cup games while presenting the more compact airing of all the legs.
