Ben Davidson & BLAH in the LA Times

Ben Davidson is one of the great names in American Football. He's also become a great friend and we're so proud to be showing off his cans — beer cans, that is. Ben's been collecting cans and bottles for longer than most of you all have been alive. Recently we visited Ben's storage facility and cleaned it out — with his permission, of course. And you should see the boxes. Twelve feet high! Over the next few months watch for more of them going on display at the Blind Lady.

Read the LA Times article about Ben and his career with the Raiders here.

And yes, Will Ferrell was in during Comic Con.
No, it wasn't Lee without his hat.

Expanding the Horizons, Expanding Our Parameters...

Over the past few days people have seen the circa 1966 Hamm's billboard come down and they're wondering what's happening. Chill. We're not scrapping it for the sake of expansion. We've removed it from the wall and are in the process of re-mounting it in our new—yet to be named—west room. Click on the image to see the progress or stop by and see it in person.
UPDATE: The room is open and the billboard is up. Come check it out!

Le Tour de France at BLAH

We're teaming up with Adams Ave Bikes to present Le Tour. The plan is to show the VS re-cap every night at 9pm and on the weekends at lunch. We're also thinking it will be on at 5pm each evening.

Ben Davidson and the LA Times

Ben was in the other day to do a photo shoot for the LA times. We're super proud of his cans we've been slowly putting on display. As a graphic designer and beer fan I can't say how cool it is to have these in our place. Watch over the next few weeks as we expand into our new space and add the rest of the around 2,000 cans and bottles.

Please join us for our first FNHC Benefit on Sunday, July 18 at the Blind Lady Ale House! People who have been to BLAH know about their terrific pizza, salad, beers, and other delicious food and drink choices. 15% of sales will be donated to FNHC to support our habitat restoration and canyon maintenance projects. See the attached flyer for all the details. Hope to see you there!

Reminder - the next meeting of the Friends of Normal Heights Canyons is our odd month canyon maintenance/meeting, Saturday, July 10, 10:00am - 11:30, meet at the end of Eugene Place.

If you haven't already, please voice your opinion on the City's Stormwater Maintenance Plan, which has passed the City Planning Commission and has been appealed to the City Council. See this link for details -
