Friday 11/14 at 6-7pm
The BLAH Beer Styles Challenge is your opportunity to test your knowledge of beer styles, or just have fun, as we pair similar styles, test your accuracy as to which is which, and then discuss the nuances/subtleties of each.
Four pairs of beers will be poured side-by-side. Your job will be to correctly identify which of the two beers is which style/category of beer. Knowledge of beer history/styles is useful, but not required. George from the Homebrewer will lead this in the Hamm's Room at Blind Lady.

Coachella Valley Brewing Co Showcase
Chris Anderson has been brewing for over 20 years he has won world beer cup, great Alaska beer and Balreywine festival best in show and also won the alpha king as a commercial brewer edging out Lagunitas, Russian River, Sierra Nevada, and Bear Republic, As a Homebrewer he has collected over 460 medals and awards to include Best in show at Brewmasters Challenge, Americas Finest City, Fur Rendezvous, and the Alaska State Fair. He has 19 NHC medals as well as two final round gold medals for sour beers. Much of his commercial experience comes from working at Midnight Sun Brewing Company under Gabe Fletcher who is now with Anchorage Brewing Co. and Broken Tooth Brewing Company both in Anchorage, Alaska. He is a classically trained chef and graduated with a culinary arts degree. This background allows him to use my palate to create a subtle layering of flavors rather than muddling his creations as is the case with many of the beers offered today. He is now the owner and brewmaster of Coachella Valley Brewing Company. A fast growing craft brewery specializing in the use of locally sourced ingredients from Coachella Valleys agricultural Mecca the brewery is located in Thousand Palms, Ca. 20 mikes east of Palm Springs. This far he has brewed over 40 different beers and 1500 barrels in our first 10 months.
This Saturday from 3-4pm Chis will be at BLAH serving a guided tour of 6 of his beers, including 3 which were Fermented with a wild yeast Torrulaspora Delbrukii isolated by White Labs Troels Prahl in Dennark on an a abandoned apple orchard and brought to the US for propogation. The result is dominant bubble gum, banana, mango esters. Come join us as we learn more about yeast, brewing and the amazing things the Coachella Valley has to offer--including craft beer.

5TH ANNIVERSARY STARTS NOW
that milestone. Think BEER. Here is the schedule, as always, subject to change.
Tuesday, Feb 4th at 11:30am
5th Anniversary Beer Release & Darkest Thing & Keeper Glass
We'll release Automatic Sting Ray, our 5th Anniversary Blahk Ale and there will be a limited number of Sting Ray t-shirts available. And they're rad. Plus, we unearthed one more keg of the Automatic Barrel-Aged Darkest Thing for our rare beer lunch. We'll have 5th Anniversary Keeper Glasses twice in one day. We'll have 40 to give away at 11:30am and then 100 more at 6pm. Just purchase a Sting Ray and keep the glass (while supplies last).
Wednesday, Feb 5th at 11:30am
Rare Beer Lunch with Vietnamese Speedway & Blind Sour Challenge
When we open in the morning we'll tap a special keg of AleSmith Vietnamese Speedway Stout. But, if coffee stouts aren't your thing, maybe a Blind Sour Challenge is? Yep, it's back. We'll put on a flight of 6 sour beers and you'll tell us which is which for your chance to win a special 5th Anniversary Prize Pack. The Sour Challenge goes all day and night. The Speedway till it runs out.
Thursday, Feb 6th
Rare Beer Lunch with Firestone 17th Anniversary at 11:30am &
HOPPY CANniversary at 5pm
Our friends at Firestone Walker sent us down a keg of their anniversary beer just to remind us that they've been at it for 12 long years more than we have. That's cool. We'll take it. We'll also bring in some of our favorite hoppy can beers at 5pm --and maybe more--to serve in our 5th Anniversary koozies.
Friday, Feb 7th
Progressive Kegs Gone Wild
& YuleSmith Cask
We'll get the day started with a ridiculous version of Progressive Kegs. EVERY DRAFT BEER will be $3 til 3pm and then $4 til 4pm.
We'll also tap a cask of AleSmith YuleSmith (sorry, not part of the progressive deal).
Saturday, Feb 8th
Rare Beer Lunch with Hair of the Dog Adam
& Running with Capes
It's not every day we get a keg of Hair of the Dog Adam. It's also not every day you see people running around town wearing capes. But, on this monumental day both will happen. We'll tap HOD Adam at 11:30am and you'll see a hundred, or so, beer enthusiasts attempting to cover 5 kilometers to celebrate 5 years of great beers. The run is sold out!!! But feel free to tag along if you'd like. Just make sure you bring your own cash and your ID.
Sunday, Feb 9th
Mystery Beer & Mystery Ride
Automatic will release a special barrel-aged "mystery" beer Sunday at 11:30am. We'll also host a beers & bikes "mystery" ride. Mystery? Yes. At least for now. The ride will meet at BLAH at 11:30am and roll out at noon-ish for a 26-ish mile ride. Get info on our Facebook event page.
Also on Sunday, Feb 9th...
Customer Appreciation Day w/ "Bad Glass" giveaway
Our glass supplier kinda messed up the printing on their first try with out 5th Anniversary glasses and you are about to benefit from their mistake. To close out our 5th Anniversary we wanna say thanks to everyone and all their support over the years by giving you a "Bad Glass." Just show up on Sunday wearing any BLAH swag (shirts or hoodies) and we'll give you a glass (we've got about 100, or so). That's it. Show us your support and we'll show you ours. BTW, the glasses still look pretty awesome even if they are "bad". Get info on our Facebook event page.

100 BEST EVERY YEAR WE'VE BEEN OPEN
We've made the Draft Magazine "America's 100 Best Beer Bars"
every year we've been open. That's pretty awesome.
This year feels even better with their new definition
of what makes a bar "a top-notch beer bar."
"After six years of making this annual list, we had to rethink the definition of a top-notch beer bar. New ones are opening every second, and “good beer bar” no longer equals a zillion taps; there’s just more to it now. We needed to walk out of these places saying, “Now there’s a bar that really, really cares about your experience with beer.” So what does that mean? Having well-cared for, thoughtfully selected beer with an eye toward variety, trends and tradition, in the kind of place you’d want to stay awhile, delivered by someone who knows their stuff. We don’t want to send you to a place where the server doesn’t look up from her texting when you ask questions, or where you’ll be told a saison “is basically a lager.” (And yes, both of those things happened on our visits.) We’d rather you to go to ChurchKey in D.C., where beers are smartly grouped by flavor (citrusy, woodsy, etc.), rather than just by style. We want you to go to Bailey’s Taproom in Portland, Ore., which cares so much about beer freshness, the digital menu says when each keg was tapped and how much is left. We want you to go to all 100 of these places, because they really are a cut above the rest." - Click here to see complete Draft Magazine 100 Best Beer Bars 2014
We serve from a DIRECT DRAW system.
We cold store EVERY keg of beer.
We serve ALL beers in glasses with proper pour lines marked.
We us ALL stainless steal draft parts.
We clean our lines in between EVERY keg change.
We deep clean our entire draft system EVERY week.
We change out ALL of our lines at least TWICE a year.
EVERY bartender knows how to clean & change lines.
WE RESPECT BEER!
