INSPIRED TO RIDE
INSPIRED TO RIDE - SCREENING
4233 Miles. 10 States. Coast To Coast. Self-Supported.
Join us in the Hamm's Room for drinks, food and a movie screening.
Sure, you could watch it at home alone, but that's no stinking fun.
We open at 5pm.
Movie starts at 7pm.
FREE, but we'll be asking donations for Javi
INSPIRED TO RIDE follows a handful of cyclists as they race unsupported in the inaugural year of The Trans Am Bike Race. It's the antithesis to events like Tour de France and Race Across America. There are no teams, no support vehicles, no special jerseys and not a dime in prize money.
As they battle lack of sleep, injuries and spirited competition, INSPIRED TO RIDE takes you on an invigorating road trip — amidst the jaw-dropping beauty of the TransAmerica Trail with its varied landscapes, intriguing locals and found stories which dot this path of discovery.

BEYOND THE PALE
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale introduced many of us to the world of hoppy beers. Then, Celebration, once a year, took it to an entirely new extreme both in flavor and ABV. Tonight we celebrate Sierra Nevada and their story "Beyond The Pale." Join us for a flight of deliciously fresh, hoppy beers and a chance to get your hands on a copy of the book.
Pale Ale, Celebration, Estate, Harvest, Torpedo, Hop Hunter
Beyond the Pale chronicles Ken Grossman's journey from hobbyist homebrewer to owner of Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., one of the most successful craft breweries in the United States. From youthful adventures to pioneering craft brewer, Ken Grossman shares the trials and tribulations of building a brewery that produces more than 800,000 barrels of beer a year while maintaining its commitment to using the finest ingredients available. Since Grossman founded Sierra Nevada in 1980, part of a growing beer revolution in America, critics have proclaimed his beer to be "among the best brewed anywhere in the world."

USA vs MEX
USA vs MEX
Saturday, October 10th at 6:30pm
In the Hamm's Room
Home Brewing Co on tap this Thursday.
A few of our bartenders had the opportunity to go in and brew with George from Home Brewing Co a few weeks back. The first lager in their series of SMASH beers (Single Malt And Single Hop). Notes of melon and citrus rind from Mandarina Bavaria (a new German varietal), balanced by intensely bready floor-malted bohemian pilsner malt from Germany.
We'll also have Westoaster on tap. Ryan from Westcoaster was part of this Amber ale featuring 100% Red X malt with SD Grown Fresh Hops. Malt forward, beautiful red hue, toasty with hints of cherry and dark fruit. A soft, resinous, citrus hop profile.

New Hours, Monday Nights, and more
Big News, Big News!
You want the good or the bad first? OK, here is the bad.
We have decided to close our Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday lunches down and we will open at 5pm those days. Friday, Saturday & Sunday lunches are still ON and we will continue to open at 11:30am on those days.
And now for the awesome news:
We are opening up MONDAY NIGHTS. We have never done this and are darned excited.
So to re-cap our hours:
Monday-Thursday, 5:00pm - 12:00am (No lunch)
Friday, Saturday & Sunday 11:30am- 12:00am
A few other things to note: We, because of YOU, donated over $1000 to Alex's Lemonade Stand this past Saturday. Thank you everyone who came out to support this cause, or just came to eat and drink.
And this Saturday Suzie's Farm, is hosting their annual Pedal, Pick and Grin event, a fun family-time of music, veggie picking and bike riding! We are organizing / hosting a ride down there to their farm in the Tijuana River Basin. Check out the details on our Facebook event page. Say hi to one of the guys pickin', grinnin' and singin', Mr. Gary Hankins, who moonlights as a bartender at Panama 66.
Friday, July 24, 2015
Alex's Lemonade, Gold Cup, VHS, Pedalin'...
Tomorrow, Friday, starting at Noon we have Left Hand Brewing Flights. PoleStar Pils, Nitro Milk Stout, Great JuJu, Fade to Black and more.
Saturday, July 25 is our Alex's Lemonade Stand Day. It said it was Sunday in the City Beat ad because Jeff is overworked and not so great with dates but it's Saturday! That means we are giving 20% of our sales to this amazing organization that supports childhood cancer research. We will have Lemon Pudding Cake from our Baking Team as well as a Chef Joseph lemon savory special. Jeff has requested a Lemony Pizza. We will see if THAT will come to fruition ;)
Sunday, July 26 has *two* events happening, sort of. The Gold Cup Final, which is Mexico vs. Jamaica, is at 4:30. Would have preferred a US v. Mexico showing but Jamaica has never made it to the final and Mexico is doing well so should be a solidly fun game. After that's over it will be time for our newest installment of VHS SUNDAYS. Have you ever seen our VHS collection? It's stupid good. We will show one selection at 6:30 and another at 8:30, or thereabouts.
Looking ahead, one of our most favorite local farms, Suzie's Farm, is hosting their annual Pedal, Pick and Grin event, a fun family-time of music, veggie picking and bike riding! We are organizing / hosting a ride down there to their farm in the Tijuana River Basin. Interested? Check out the details on our Facebook event page. Bonus: One of our favorite Panama 66 staff guys (Gary Hankins) is performing!

GOLD CUP: Group A
4:00 PM – Panama v. Haiti (FOX Sports 2, Univision Deportes) - on bar tv
6:30 PM – United States v. Honduras (FOX Sports 1, UniMás, Univision Deportes)
TOUR DE FRANCE: STAGE 4, 9pm
Seraing to Cambrai, 223.5 km
Of this nearly 139-mile stage, what matters most is the 8 miles ofcobblestones—more than half of which come in the last 16 miles.
What does it feel like? Bone jarring. No American cobblestone street can match the centuries-old pavé of northern France. It's like trying to maintain 20 to 25 mph riding between railroad tracks.
Wednesday 08 July
GOLD CUP: Group B
5:00 PM – Costa Rica v. Jamaica (FOX Sports 2, UniMás, Univision Deportes) - on bar tv
7:30 PM – El Salvador v. Canada (FOX Sports 2, UniMás, Univision Deportes) - on bar tv
GOLD CUP: Group C
4:00 PM – Trinidad & Tobago v. Guatemala (FOX Sports 2, Univision Deportes)
6:30 PM – Mexico v. Cuba (FOX Sports 1, UniMás, Univision Deportes,)
Friday 10 July

3:30 PM – Trinidad & Tobago v. Cuba (FOX Sports 2, Univision Deportes) - on bar tv
6:00 PM – Guatemala v. Mexico (FOX Sports 2, Univision, Univision Deportes)
Monday 13 July
GOLD CUP: Group A
4:00 PM – Haiti v. Honduras (Fox Sports 1, UniMás, Univision Deportes,)
6:30 PM – Panama v. United States (Fox Sports 1, UniMás, Univision Deportes)
Our plan is to open bar only at 6pm for this one and close at 9pm. BYOFood.
Tuesday 14 July
GOLD CUP: Group B
3:00 PM – Jamaica v. El Salvador (Fox Sports 1, UniMás, Univision Deportes) - on bar tv
5:30 PM – Canada v. Costa Rica (Fox Sports 1, UniMás, Univision Deportes) - on bar tv
TOUR DE FRANCE: STAGE 10, 5pm & 9PM
Tarbes to La Pierre-Saint-Martin, 167 km
Following the initial rest day, and with no warmup ascents before the summit, this first mountaintop finish will likely put an end to someone's Tour dreams.
What does it feel like? The Col de Soudet is rarely used in the Tour, but at 15 km and 7.4 percent average grade, it's a legitimate Grand Tour climb. Get a taste on the 85 miles from Reno, Nevada, to the top of 8,340-foot Monitor Pass.
Wednesday 15 July
GOLD CUP: Group C
3:00 PM – Cuba v. Guatemala (Fox Sports 2, UniMás, Univision Deportes) - on bar tv
5:30 PM – Mexico v. Trinidad & Tobago (Fox Sports 2, UniMás, Univision Deportes)
Thursday 16 July
TOUR DE FRANCE: STAGE 12, 5PM & 9PM
Lannemezan to Plateau de Beille, 195 km
This one's a killer: four major climbs and four more stages after this until the rest day. The summit finish on Plateau de Beille starts out steep, with 2.5 miles averaging almost 9 percent, and backs off only slightly from there.
What does it feel like? This stage has more than 11,500 feet of climbing. That's five full repeats of Boulder's Flagstaff Mountain, starting at University Bikes on 9th and Pearl.
Saturday 18 July
GOLD CUP: QUARTER-FINALS
2:00 PM – _________ v. __________ (Fox, Univision, Univision Deportes)
5:00 PM – _________ v. __________ (Fox Sports 2, Univision, Univision Deportes)
Sunday 19 July
MetLife Stadium – East Rutherford, New Jersey
1:30 PM – _________ v. __________ (Fox Sports 1, Univision, Univision Deportes)
4:30 PM – _________ v. __________ (Fox Sports 1, Univision, Univision Deportes)
Wednesday 22 July
GOLD CUP: SEMI-FINALS
3:00 PM – _________ v. ___________ (Fox Sports 1, UniMás)
6:00 PM – _________ v. ___________ (Fox Sports 2, UniMás, Univision Deportes)
Friday 24 July
TOUR DE FRANCE: STAGE 19, 5PM & 9PM
Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne to La Toussuire-Les Sybelles, 138 km
The race is likely to be won or lost today. At just 138 km, the course climbs literally from the start, which favors opportunistic attackers. Four climbs, including the hellish Croix de Fer, culminate in the summit finish at La Toussuire.
What does it feel like? Roughly 55 of the 138 km in this stage go up. That's the same distance as Hawaii's Haleakala volcano, but at a steeper grade. If you've ever suffered up Haleakala, think of the same distance at 7 percent average, instead of a mere 5.
Saturday 25 July
GOLD CUP: 3RD PLACE GAME
1:00 PM – _________ v. ___________ (Fox Sports 2, Univision, Univision Deportes)
TOUR DE FRANCE: STAGE 20, 5pm & 9pm
Modane Valfrejus to Alpe d'Huez, 110.5 km
If standings are close, the final ascent of Alpe d'Huez could be this year's climax. The long descent from the Col de la Croix de Fer will likely bring splits back together, so expect ceasefire from the big guns. But at the base of Alpe, last-chance stage-win hopefuls will battle the GC riders to the top for bragging rights.
What does it feel like? There's no real climb in the U.S. quite like Alpe d'Huez, but the Strava Classic segment of New York's Whiteface Mountain is remarkably close in distance (8 miles) and total ascent (3,500 feet).
GOLD CUP: FINALS
Sunday 26 July
Lincoln Financial Field – Lincoln, Pennsylvania
4:30 PM – _________ v. ___________ (Fox Sports 1, Univision, Univision Deportes)
Tuesday, June 30, 2015
CLOSED on the FOURTH
We will be CLOSED on the FOURTH of JULY
Go enjoy yourself.
Then, we'll be open on Sunday, July 5th for the WWC Final.

THE END IS BEER
Yes, the Hopocalypse is upon us.
This Saturday, 3/21 the fine people of Drakes will pretty much lay us to waste with a very hoppy ending. We'll have flights featuring Hopocalypse, Wild Hundo (100% brett 1500), 7x70, Migrating Monkey (collaboration with Monkey Paw) and more. Plus, we'll have 5 gallons of Black Label to serve up by the glass. Last year it pretty much didn't stop pouring until it was all gone.
The end will begin at 11:30am. Be afraid.
